Apercu turns piles of open-ended text into a short list of themes you can act on: what people are saying, how often, and in their own words.
Why Apercu exists
Most teams collect more written feedback than they can read. Survey comments, NPS verbatims, reviews and support tickets end up in a spreadsheet, and the choice is between days of manual coding, an enterprise platform with a sales process, or not analyzing the text at all.
Apercu is the middle option. Upload a CSV or Excel file, and a few minutes later you have AI-labeled themes with counts, percentages and the real responses behind each one. No code, no demo call and no annual contract.
What Apercu does
- Suggests the text column in your CSV or Excel file
- Groups responses that talk about the same thing into themes
- Names each theme with AI, using an optional description of your data for better labels
- Shows the count, percentage and example responses for every theme
- Lets you rename themes, move responses between themes and search across all responses
- Saves every analysis as a project so you can compare results over time
- Exports results, and on paid plans writes a report with a summary, key findings and recommendations
Who it is for
Researchers, product managers, CX and support leads, marketers, HR teams, consultants and students who need to understand open-ended text without writing code. Typical datasets run from a few hundred to 100,000 responses. See use cases for examples.
What Apercu does not do
Being clear about limits helps you choose the right tool:
- It does not score sentiment. It tells you what people talk about, not whether they are positive or negative.
- It works on file uploads. There are no direct integrations with survey or helpdesk tools, and no public API.
- Each response is assigned to the one theme it fits best, rather than several codes.
- It works best in English. Other languages can work, with lower label quality.

How we handle your data
- Your files are used to run the analysis you ask for. We do not use your content to train AI models.
- Files uploaded through the free, no-account preview are deleted after the analysis completes.
- Saved projects stay in your account until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your personal data within 30 days.
- We do not sell personal information.

About the name
"Aperçu" is French for an overview or a first glimpse, which is what a thematic analysis gives you. Apercu at getapercu.com is an independent product and is not affiliated with other apps or companies that use the name Aperçu.
